No, no, no--I didn't mean to suggest that complications or entanglements are bad. I just have a limited tolerance with stories that have two people declaring their undying love, falling into bed and then proceeding to have a completely unrealistic relationship. Real adults can and do get into seriously deep shit as easily as anyone. But a lot of fiction is based upon relationships that take a very immature stance on how life works. It becomes tedious to read it at times--as interesting as a story premise may be--because my mind screams "Real life doesn't work that way!" I'm willing to read complications. I'm willing to read well-written angst that is not written from the perspective of someone without a clue as to what a suspension of disbelief is, much less how to sustain it.

Now you've gone and made me rant. ;)

And stop trying to scare me away. You've got me hooked and I'm riding this one out to the end.
