Hi. Sorry this reply took so long, but as I've said in the reply above, after the difficulty of writing this fic, I was sort of ready to not think about it after we posted. Heh. So I'm finally replying. :P

I'm not someone who reads death fic often, unless it's a writer I very much trust, so it's nice to know we were able to hit all those points for someone who likes sad stories, and I'm so glad that having him recover and then relapse worked. As someone with cancer in my family (and Innerslytherin does as well), it seemed so much more realistic that way to us.

And thank you that they felt true, but also like their own people. We have seriously considered adapting this into an actual novel, so that is very encouraging.

That said, I don't know if I could have stood it if the anguish had been any more bitter.

LOL! That was what I had just been thinking when you said the highs being higher would make the lows lower. This fic nearly gutted me. I'm not sure that I could have handled it.
