I found that very impressive because (1) this is pretty much the kind of Catholic I am. Both the love for the churches, the history and what Rossi says about good intentions, taking the good with the bad, etc (2) it's so rare to find that for example in American media, people who get that about Catholicism. The idea that yeah, Catholicism is fucked up, but particularly modern, educated Catholics have a special relationship with it that it's hard to make sense of if you haven't lived it.
