Part One
Dave woke late the next morning, Spencer snuggled against his chest, Dave's nose buried in Spencer's hair. God, he really was adorable as well as sexy. Dave smiled and brushed his lips against Spencer's forehead, then climbed gingerly out of bed, trying not to wake him. After a trip to the bathroom, he returned back to bed, planning to snuggle under the covers again.
"Where'd you go?" Spencer mumbled. He had only been vaguely aware of movement, but nothing was clicking in his head except that Dave was settling against him and he hadn't been in the bed just a moment ago. "D'vid."
"Bathroom," Dave said, yawning. He hummed and wrapped his arms around Spencer again. "Didn't mean to wake you." He kissed Spencer's forehead.
"Dave," Spencer murmured, and rolled up against Dave again, pressing a kiss against his neck and licking his skin. "David."
"Mmm." Dave stroked one hand up along Spencer's spine and was struck suddenly by how Spencer was sort of like a cat you had to lull into letting you pet it...but once he let you, he arched and purred under every touch. Dave suddenly felt more awake as his body took notice of the memory of how responsive Spencer was. "Sexy," he murmured.
Spencer laughed softly. "Too early to be sexy. Can't even open my eyes," he said, drawing his nose along Dave's skin.
"Doesn't matter," Dave whispered. "The way you feel against me is sexy. The way you move against me is sexy." He caught Spencer's mouth with his own, drawing the kiss out heatedly.
That helped to wake Spencer up. He made a surprised noise against Dave's lips, and then melted into the kiss, returning it, even as his tongue felt a little sluggish. "You just feel good," he breathed when they broke apart. "Warm, 'n' comfortable." He yawned. "And safe," he added more quietly.
Dave's eyebrows went up at Spencer's words. He wasn't sure at first whether to be a little insulted that he wasn't sexy or flattered that he was comfortable, but when Spencer added 'safe', Dave felt his heart melt. He stroked his fingers through Spencer's hair and kissed him again, more tenderly.
That kiss took Spencer's breath away, the care in it shooting through him like sparks, and he curled his fingers into the back of Dave's shirt. He was waking up bit by bit, and he deepened the kiss without changing the tone of it, and hummed a pleased noise.
"You're so beautiful, Spencer," Dave murmured when the kiss ended. He was still stroking Spencer's hair, running his hand down Spencer's neck. "You are safe with me. I'll take good care of you."
Spencer smiled as much as he could manage, given that he was still sleepy. He pulled the back of Dave's shirt up and pressed his hand against the warm skin at the small of Dave's back. "Good," he whispered. "I could get used to this."
"Good." Dave trailed soft kisses across Spencer's cheek and jaw. He couldn't get enough of just touching Spencer, reveling in the fact that he was allowed to do so. "I hope you decide to keep me."
Spencer pulled back and smiled at Dave, a little charmed (and surprised) by the vulnerability in Dave's words. He couldn't make promises for the future, though, so after a moment, he just leaned back in and kissed Dave again. He pulled Dave's pajama shirt up more and slid his fingers along Dave's spine. "Your pajamas are comfortable," he murmured, kissing Dave again. "Might be even more comfortable without them, though."
"Why, Spencer, are you coming on to me?" Dave murmured. He kissed Spencer, smiling against his lips. "You just came home with me so you could take advantage of me." He rolled on top of Spencer, framing Spencer's face with his hands and kissing him with slow concentration. "I think I like that," he breathed, and kissed him again.
God, if Dave kept kissing him like that, Spencer was going to melt into the mattress. "Mmm, well, I've never taken advantage of someone like this before, so you'll have to tell me if I'm doing a good job," Spencer whispered, pressing up against Dave.
Dave chuckled and trailed his lips down Spencer's jaw to his ear. "You're doing a wonderful job so far," he murmured, and sucked Spencer's earlobe into his mouth. He rolled his hips against Spencer's, making a hungry noise in his throat as the movement sent a wave of pleasure from his groin through the rest of his body.
Spencer gasped and arched under Dave, a thrill going through him that heightened his desire. He curled his fingers into the bottom of Dave's pajama bottoms and tugged up. "I'm told I'm a fast learner," he said as he tried to get Dave undressed.
"Let's see if that's true," Dave teased, helping Spencer with his shirt and then settling back down against him. He sucked Spencer's earlobe into his mouth again, dragging it lightly between his teeth.
Dave's breath in his ear and teeth against his skin sent a frisson of want through Spencer. He slid his hands up Dave's back, groaning softly and turning his head to give Dave better access to what he was doing in a rather obvious way, then adding, "God, that's good," to drive the point home.
Dave hummed in amusement and sucked harder, flicking his tongue against Spencer's skin. "Spence," he breathed when he pulled back, and placed a series of open-mouthed kisses down Spencer's throat.
Spencer made a noise that he had meant to form words, but it didn't work. "Maybe you're taking advantage of me," he breathed. "Far too early to resist." He dragged his nails lightly up Dave's back.
"You're irresistible regardless of the time," Dave murmured, sucking at Spencer's skin.
Spencer laughed softly. "I meant I'm incapable of resisting." He slid his hands down Dave's back, relishing the bare skin under his fingers, and then gripped Dave's ass. "Not that I want to."
Dave hummed a laugh and then groaned when Spencer's hands cupped his ass. He rolled his hips down against Spencer. "I want you," he murmured.
"I want you to want me," Spencer breathed, drawing a shuddery breath at the press of their bodies. He was starting to wake up more, so there was a flutter in his stomach. This was it. "I want you to have me," he whispered anyway.
Dave lifted a hand to brush against Spencer's cheek. "Are you sure?" he asked, and kissed Spencer softly. "This doesn't have to be today."
Spencer swallowed hard, then nodded. "I trust you," he murmured.
Those words sent a pleasant warmth through Dave's chest. "I never want to fuck that up," he whispered, and kissed Spencer again, trying to show him with the kiss how much this meant.
Spencer hummed happily into the kiss, and it relaxed him. The gentle treatment was soothing; he'd known Dave wouldn't hurt him, and Dave's finger the night before had been wonderful, but he was still slightly nervous. "I've been waiting long enough anyway," he joked, just to try to lighten the mood.
Dave smiled warmly at him and brushed Spencer's hair away from his face. "You're so beautiful, Spencer. I care about you," he murmured. Then, feeling stupidly as if he'd said too much, he added, more lightly, "I hope I'm worth the wait." He stroked one hand down along Spencer's body and teased at the waistband of the borrowed pajama pants.
Spencer sucked in a breath and arched under Dave. "Yes," he breathed, and nibbled at Dave's lower lip.
And then Dave's phone started ringing. "Noooo," Spencer groaned in one long breath, and frowned up at Dave. "Tell me it's not JJ."
Dave groaned and let his forehead rest against Spencer's shoulder for a moment. "Not many people have that number," he muttered, and sighed as he reached for the phone.
Dave looked at the display, and then flipped the phone open and pressed it to his ear. "Derek," he greeted, giving Spencer a look and fighting a smirk when Spencer rolled his eyes.
"Hey, man," Morgan said. "Did you get Reid home all right last night? I've been calling his home phone, and, ah, he's not picking up." The last few words held a hint of teasing.
Dave cleared his throat and glanced down at Spencer. "I have a guest room," he said, keeping his eyes on Spencer's.
Morgan laughed, which he turned into a cough. "A guest room."
"Yeah," Dave said, still watching Spencer. "Which saw no use last night. I'm hanging up now, Derek."
"Wait a minute," Morgan said. "Rossi, ha--"
Spencer watched Dave, his eyes wide, and then his mouth fell open when Dave hung up. "You just-- you-- Dave..."
"You said you didn't care if they knew," Dave murmured, tracing a finger down Spencer's cheek. "I wanted to make sure you know that I don't care, either."
Spencer managed to shut his mouth, but he just stared at Dave for a moment, not quite sure exactly what to think. "I-- Yeah, but you just... told them."
"Did you want me to hide it?" Dave asked. He brushed his lips against Spencer's. "I'm proud to be with you. I've wanted you for so long, I'm damn tired of pretending."
That sent a shiver of want through Spencer, and warmth too, that Dave was proud of being with him. "I just... that was faster than I expected that to happen," he breathed, but his voice was quickly losing the edge of surprise.
Dave lowered his eyelids slightly. "Will you forgive me?" he murmured, and kissed Spencer again. He heard his cellphone begin to ring again, but he ignored it.
Spencer sucked in a breath, and kissed Dave a little more hungrily at the way Dave was looking at him. "Mmm, yes, I will," he said quickly, then, "Dave, that could be important."
"Morgan's had time to tell someone, who is now calling to see if she can get more information." Dave kissed Spencer, considering. "Probably Penelope. She's better at manipulating me than the rest of them. I never know quite how to tell her no without making her pout." The phone stopped.
Spencer breathed a laughed, because it was a little funny that Garcia was the one Dave had trouble being firm with... but then, she sort of had that way with a lot of the team, an endearing irresistibility. Still, Spencer looked back over at Dave's phone. "You're not even going to see who it was?"
Dave sighed and reached for the phone, then frowned. "JJ?" he muttered, just as his home phone began to ring. "Shit." He groaned and rolled away from Spencer to get the phone.
Spencer closed his eyes and tried to calm his body, though he ended up gripping the sheets underneath him. Okay... maybe this wasn't it. He groaned unhappily and rolled onto his side, curling up and dragging the covers back over him, pulling them over his head.
"David, hi," JJ said. "Sorry for the wake-up call, but I think we're probably going to be flying out this afternoon. I need the team in here ASAP."
Dave sighed. "I wasn't sleeping," he said, hoping he didn't sound as frustrated as he felt. "But do you ever sleep, woman?"
She just laughed. "While I have you," she said, ignoring his question, "would you let Reid know we have a case?"
Dave rolled his eyes. She'd obviously called Morgan first. "Do you want to talk to him?" he growled.
She laughed again. "I'll see you shortly."
Dave hung up and crawled under the covers to wrap his arms around Spencer and kiss his shoulder. "I'm sorry," he whispered.
Spencer made a disgruntled noise, even as he felt warmed that Dave had joined him all the way under the covers. "Let's play hookey." He was kidding, but he knew he didn't sound that way and it was still a tempting thought.
Dave chuckled and tightened his arm around Spencer's waist, pulling him back against Dave's body. He trailed his lips up Spencer's shoulder to a spot where shoulder met neck. He sucked hard at Spencer's skin, knowing he was raising a bruise there. "Maybe they'll let us room together in the hotel," he whispered.
Spencer sucked in a breath and pressed his fingertips to the spot on his neck, the skin feeling hot under his hand. "That might be weird. Of course, I'm coming to your room anyway, and it would save the Bureau money." He sighed and pressed his lips to Dave's neck. "Did you just give me a hickey?"
"Mmm, yes." Dave grinned at Spencer's tone of voice. "Give them something to talk about. Anyway, we might as well tell Aaron along with the rest of the team." He slid a hand down to cup Spencer's ass, then sighed. He didn't want to get out of bed. It was oddly comforting, being under the covers with Spencer.
"Mm," Spencer replied, unsure what else to say about the team knowing. He let out a little groan, Dave's touch already trying to ignite a dwindling desire... which wasn't feeling particularly pleasant now that he'd been extremely hard without release. He was honestly a little achy. "Vasocongestion is a bitch," he mumbled.
"Cold shower," Dave replied, and kissed Spencer firmly. "Come on. We can share to save time. And maybe I can do something about your, ah, condition." He grinned and threw the covers back, sitting up.
"Pleeeease," Spencer groaned, and kissed Dave again.
"Mmm, come on," Dave said again, grasping Spencer's hand and tugging. "I'll take care of you in the shower. We need to be quick."
Spencer let himself be pulled, letting Dave lead him to the bathroom, a tiny smile tugging the corners of his lips. "It's probably going to be at least ten hours--probably more--before we see another bed," he said. "Don't be too quick."
